DJ SuperGran Shines at Rhythm and Vines with Charitable Debut
The Rhythm and Vines festival concluded on December 31, 2023, marking an impressive four days of music and festivities in Gisborne, New Zealand. With no significant police incidents reported, the event was deemed a success, showcasing a mix of over 100 local and international artists. Among the highlights was the debut performance of DJ SuperGran, also known as Molly Pardoe, who expressed her delight following the event.
At 81 years old, Molly Pardoe, chairwoman of the SuperGrans Tairāwhiti Trust, captivated the audience with her vibrant presence. Reflecting on her experience, she described her performance as “amazing” and emphasized the enjoyment of the occasion. “It was fun. It was an amazing experience. I just loved it, but you know, we were doing it for charity, so we had to enjoy it,” she stated.
Despite the warm reception and encouragement from fans, including suggestions to seek an agent, Pardoe indicated that she has no immediate plans for future performances. “I’ve done my bit. Done my bit for charity,” she remarked, highlighting her commitment to the cause.
The festival featured a diverse lineup that included renowned acts such as Kid Cudi, Turnstile, Wilkinson, L.A.B., Lee Mvtthews, and local talent Messie. This eclectic mix contributed to an electrifying atmosphere, attracting thousands of attendees.
As the festival wrapped up, the positive community response was evident. Many festival-goers expressed their enjoyment of the performances and the overall atmosphere.
