Glue Drum Explosion in Motueka Leaves Worker Seriously Injured
A serious incident occurred at an industrial site near Motueka when a glue drum exploded, resulting in significant injuries to one worker. The explosion took place shortly after 08:00 on October 30, 2023, prompting immediate emergency response from local services.
Fire and Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene on Little Sydney Street, where they confirmed the explosion but reported that no fire ensued from the incident. Despite the absence of flames, firefighters remained on site to assist with the situation and ensure the safety of the area.
