Man Charged After Stabbing Two Window Washers in Auckland

A man has been charged following an incident in which two window washers were allegedly stabbed during rush hour in South Auckland. The confrontation occurred on March 14, 2024, near the intersection of Te Irirangi Drive and Great South Road, resulting in moderate injuries for both victims.
According to the Counties Manukau Crime Squad, police received a report of a disturbance at approximately 18:10 local time. Detective Senior Sergeant Michele Gillespie stated that the incident stemmed from a disagreement between the driver of a vehicle and the two window washers who were operating nearby. “Two people sustained stab wounds following a disagreement between the driver of a car and two men who were washing car windows,” Gillespie explained.
Authorities quickly responded to the scene, where they found the two injured men. Emergency services transported them to a local hospital for treatment. Their current condition remains stable, and both are expected to recover.
The alleged attacker was apprehended shortly after the incident. Police have not released the identity of the suspect, who is expected to face charges related to the stabbings. Detectives are continuing their investigation to gather more details about the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
