Police Officer Injured in Hit-and-Run by Stolen Vehicle in Manurewa
A police officer was injured in a hit-and-run incident involving a stolen vehicle in Manurewa, New Zealand, late on November 1, 2023. According to Detective Inspector Karen Bright of the Counties Manukau Police, two police units instructed the vehicle to remain stationary. As the officers approached on foot, the driver fled the scene. The vehicle struck one police constable before colliding with a patrol vehicle.
The injured officer received immediate medical attention but the extent of their injuries has not been publicly disclosed. Authorities are actively investigating the situation, seeking any information that could lead to the apprehension of the driver. Detective Inspector Bright emphasized the seriousness of the incident, highlighting the risks police officers face daily while performing their duties.
