On August 4, 2023, police received notifications regarding the man, who was reportedly riding a bicycle in the Merivale and St Albans areas. Allegations indicate that he offered cash to students in exchange for inappropriate favours.

Detective Constable Andrea McDowell confirmed that the police are actively investigating the incidents. As part of their efforts, they have sent written alerts to 11 schools in the vicinity, ensuring that staff and students are aware of the potential threat.
