Lusail Circuit Engages F1 Leaders to Enhance Motorsport Collaboration
DOHA, QATAR – During the 2025 Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix, executives from the Lusail International Circuit (LIC) and the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) hosted a series of significant meetings with key figures in the motorsport industry. The discussions, which featured LIC and QMMF President Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al-Mannai and LIC CEO Abdulaziz Ali Al Mohannadi, aimed to foster collaboration and innovation in the world of motorsports.
Key Meetings Highlight Future Prospects
Amid the dynamic atmosphere of the Grand Prix, Al-Mannai and Al Mohannadi connected with prominent names in the industry. They engaged with Laurent Mekies, CEO of Oracle Red Bull Racing, at the Red Bull hospitality suite, discussing various sporting matters. The discussions also included a meeting with Andy Stevenson, Sporting Director of Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, where they exchanged insights on the current season’s performance.
Another significant interaction took place with Frédéric Vasseur, Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari. The dialogue revolved around enhancing performance and exploring potential collaborations within Formula 1. Team principals and managers expressed their appreciation for the exceptional organization of the Lusail International Circuit and shared positive feedback regarding the drivers’ experiences during the race weekend.
Expanding Collaboration Across the Motorsport Landscape
In addition to team principals, Al-Mannai and Al Mohannadi had a productive discussion with Alexander Wurz, Chairperson of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA). This meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration and share insights that advance the sport, emphasizing support for drivers on both regional and international stages. Their conversation also included Toto Wolff, Team Principal and CEO of Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, focusing on strategic partnerships and the future evolution of Formula 1.
Furthermore, Georges-Louis Bouchez, Vice-President of the Spa Grand Prix organization, visited the LIC during the event. Bouchez met with Al-Mannai and Al Mohannadi to explore opportunities for circuit management and enhancements for future events.
The Lusail International Circuit remains committed to advancing Qatar’s motorsport ambitions. Through these high-profile meetings, the LIC aims to establish global partnerships while delivering thrilling experiences for fans around the world.
