Government and Industry Leaders Advocate for Sustainable Growth

During the summit, Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, emphasized the need for technology and sustainability to progress together. He stated, “Southeast Asia is entering a new era where technology and sustainability must advance hand in hand. By embracing AI, automation, and clean energy, we are building competitive and sustainable industries for future generations.” Dr. Rangsitpol highlighted Thailand’s commitment to regional collaboration and the development of digital talent.

In her address titled “Greening Intelligence: Charting the Future of Sustainable AI,” Shan-Shan Guo, Chief Brand Officer of Delta Electronics, referenced a report by Economist Impact. She noted that up to 78% of companies foresee energy efficiency in their AI operations becoming increasingly relevant within a year. The report also identified grid resilience as a significant challenge. Delta aims to foster sustainable AI by innovating power conversion methods and enhancing resilience through microgrids.

The event featured discussions on the intersection of AI, automation, and energy management, highlighting their role in promoting intelligent growth. The opening address, “Enabling Smart and Sustainable Industry in Southeast Asia for Global Impact,” set the tone for the summit. Dr. Rangsitpol reiterated the government’s vision for accelerating industrial modernization.

Subsequent sessions included a panel discussion titled “From Automation to Autonomous Solution,” featuring Vatsun Thirapatarapong, Country Manager of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Thailand, and Sakda Sae-Ueng, SEA Datacenter Platform Head of Delta Electronics. Thirapatarapong noted that automation is evolving to become more adaptable and intelligent, driven by machine learning and generative AI. He emphasized the significance of preparing organizations for future challenges.

Two additional panels explored key transformations in Southeast Asia’s digital infrastructure and manufacturing sectors. The first panel, “How Smart Buildings and Data Centers Are Shaping the Future of Digital Infrastructure,” included insights from industry leaders such as Ke-Vin Lim of City Developments Limited and Suthipat Lueprasert of NTT Global Data Centers. They discussed the optimization of building performance through AI-driven systems.

The second panel, “Powering the Smart Factory with Energy Intelligence and Industrial Automation,” featured representatives from Bosch and Western Digital. Participants discussed how digital transformation is reshaping manufacturing, enhancing efficiency, and promoting sustainability.
