This year’s event showcased a variety of exciting products, from highly anticipated titles to innovative gaming hardware, captivating attendees and industry professionals alike.
Highlighting Exceptional Games
Among the top contenders was the highly-anticipated game, 007 First Light, developed by IO Interactive. This action-packed James Bond adventure immediately impressed with its dynamic gameplay and stunning visuals. The game is poised to become a classic, earning its spot as a Best of Gamescom 2025 awardee.
Another standout was Kirby Air Riders, a delightful racing game for the Nintendo Switch. Directed by Masahiro Sakurai, the game offers an accessible experience for players of all ages. Its enhancements over the GameCube original, such as an expanded roster of riders and an exhilarating City Trial mode, make it a promising entry in the racing genre. The addition of online play for up to 16 players further elevates its appeal, positioning it as a potential favorite on the new console.
Innovative Hardware Takes Center Stage
The Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W monitor also received accolades for its impressive specifications. Featuring a dual-mode resolution, the monitor boasts a refresh rate of 540Hz at 2560×1440 and an astonishing 720Hz at 1080p. This makes it ideal for gamers seeking both high resolution and exceptional speed. Its innovative design, incorporating Tandem OLED technology and a unique glossy panel, enhances color and contrast while addressing potential burn-in issues.
Additionally, the Turtle Beach Racer made waves as an entry-level racing wheel designed for casual gamers. With wireless connectivity and a battery life of up to 30 hours, it offers a user-friendly experience for those new to racing simulators. The Racer enhances gameplay in arcade-style racing games, proving to be a fun and enjoyable addition to the genre.
A Diverse Range of Experiences
Among the titles garnering attention was Dying Light: The Beast, which showcased a compelling side quest that left players eager for its release. The game’s detailed graphics and engaging mechanics, such as “directional gore,” added depth to the gameplay experience. As anticipation builds for its launch, this title stands out as one of the most exciting games presented at the event.
The upcoming Onimusha: Way of the Sword also captured attention with its captivating protagonist and immersive combat mechanics. The demo showcased a tactile combat system that promises to deliver an engaging experience for fans of classic action games.
Fans were also intrigued by Silent Hill f, a new installment in the beloved horror franchise by Konami. Despite initial skepticism regarding the series’ revival, the immersive and unsettling demo left a strong impression. Players navigated a haunting environment, solving puzzles while evading terrifying creatures, raising anticipation for its upcoming release.
The awards also hinted at additional winners yet to be revealed, promising further excitement in the gaming community.
